Imed ALIBI is a composer, musical director and minor percussion virtuoso originally from Tunisia. He began his career in music among classical oriental music orchestras and later took the stage with the ethnic rock group Les Boukakes and accompanying big names in world music such as Watcha Clan, Emel Mathlouthi and Rachid Taha. With touches as energetic as they are fine, he marks traditional Berber and Sufi rhythms that he elevates to modern, even innovative sounds, by mixing them with jazz and electronic music, or accompanied by violins, brass winds or a digital sound box.
In 2018 he associated the Sufi singer Mounir TROUDI and the jazz trumpeter Michel MARRE to the frenzy of his percussions to create the project SAHLI where they value the mystical and poetic Bedouin Heritage in keys of jazz: ethnic and folk music with fresh air of rhythmic modernity.
