Michel MBARGA began at an early age inventing his own balafon, an instrument that he eventually mastered, like the African tamtam (log-drum); before becoming one of Central Africa's most sought-after guitarists.
Composer, arranger and great guitar figure in Cameroon, a country known for its electrifying string-based rhythms such as bikutsi; handles both the most modern effects and the delicate strings of traditional Mvet, sacred instrument to which few chosen ones remain instructed.
He also plays blues, jazz, fusion, afrotrap, reggae, makossa, benskin, zouk, Afro-pop and various tribal, religious or traditional music from Central Africa that have guided him since his childhood and continue to inspire him in all his creations, as well as his religious faith.
His fine, rhythmic and unique play is the signature of his recording work and has taken him to the biggest stages in the world alongside great names in African music such as Lady Ponce, Kareyse Fotso, Coco Argenté, Lornoar, André Manga, Tenor and many more.
